Gilroy, CA – The 9th annual Jeannie Witmer Memorial Roping took place Oct. 8th at the Diamond S Arena. Warm weather greeted family, friends and ropers who came out to participate and watch the roping. The Jeannie Witmer Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Ms. Rachel Hodder, who is going to be studying Agricultural Business at CSUMB fall of 2018. The roping was produced by Robert Litton Productions. Thank you to Robert and his crew for providing the great cattle, timer and flagger. 

The first roping of the day was the #8, with the winners Blair Brown and Fabian Lemus, being awarded Gist buckles. Next was the #6 roping, with the winners Hank Brown and Jr. Lomeli, being awarded Gist buckles. The last roping of the day was the All Girl, with winners Mikayla Witmer and Stacy Brooks awarded breast collars. Rope bags were awarded to the high point #2.5/under and #3/over ropers, Hank Brown and Joey Acevedo. The family would like to thank the friends, ropers, Agri-Culture and Robert Litton Productions for a very memorable event. A special thanks to all the wonderful sponsors, as they make the roping and scholarship possible.
