November 17, 1960 - May 11, 2022

CLEMENTS, CALIF. – John Thomas Sparrowk passed away May 22, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in 1960 in San Luis Obispo, Calif., the first of three children born to Jack and Judy (Adams) Sparrowk. John grew up in a ranching family, which gave him a love for the outdoors and agriculture.
Following the Sparrowk family tradition, John attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for his college education and participated in intercollegiate rodeos in steer wrestling and team roping. He continued in team roping competition after college as well. John worked at a variety of jobs after college but always came back to ranching which was his true passion. Up until his passing, he was involved in the family ranching operation.
John married Kim Sparrowk and in 1997 he welcomed his son, Jarod, to his family. John was a funny, playful and caring father who instilled his strong Christian ideals into his son and built a life of opportunity for him. John also shared his love of rock and roll music with Jarod and some of their best times together were spent rocking out in the car.
Twelve years later, John met his current wife, Lora, at Cowboy Church at the Clements Buckaroos. His relationship with Lora blossomed into a lasting bond that would continue for the rest of his life.
John was a very quiet and solitary man, often choosing to do his own thing. He would often quietly observe during family events and was known to rise early in the morning to just take in the scenery. He was well-known for his one-line zingers that would have everyone laughing. And even though he often preferred to spend time by himself, he had a very large group of people he called friends and family. He will be missed by many.
