Auberry, CA –Ron Good-rich, who qualified for the Nat-ional Finals Rodeo nine times as a team roping header, died Nov. 26 at his home in Auberry, Calif. He was 69.

Goodrich learned how to rope from his father, W.M. Goodrich, and started competing in junior rodeos in California when he was 16 and a student at Chowchilla Union High School. With letters of recommendation from Jim Rodriguez Jr., Ken Luman and Ted Ashworth, he joined the Rodeo Cowboys Association in 1965.

He participated in the NFR eight consecutive years (1966-73) and a ninth time in 1975, working with six different partners.

The lanky, 6-0, 145-pound Goodrich won or shared the win in six rounds over the years. He had his best year in 1967 when he finished ninth in the world standings.

He won the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo with John Bill Rodriguez in 1971 and California Rodeo Salinas in 1975 with John Paboojian.
