Darwin W. Lamb, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his home in Cedar City, Utah, on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Darwin was one of 12 siblings born to William and Marion Lamb in Alamo, Nevada, on April 20, 1932.
Darwin went into party politics and started the Teen Dem Clubs in the United States. He was president of the Nevada Young Democrats, Chairman of the Hospital Board, Fair and Recreation Board and Regional Streets and Highways besides enjoying his County Commissioner duties. He was in movies, one of which is The Professionals with Burt Lancaster and Lee Marvin; recorded a record album, I Have a Dream and performed at several hotel casinos as well as singing the National Anthem at the National Cowboy Rodeo Association in Las Vegas; was a world class cowboy with 38 champion buckles and 21 saddles; drove cross country road races, outrunning Parnelli Jones and Bobby Unser. He also built Los Rancheros Steak House and founded Lamb & 1. Upon retiring he moved to Cedar City, Utah and farmed alfalfa hay; raised horses for racing and roping; built the Longhorn Steakhouse, Ace Storage Units, Mr. Bubbles car washes and the Flying L Ranch Estates.
He will be missed by his wife of 37 years, Mavourneen, his three children, Tommy, Ocey, and Marion Lamb, his three grandchildren, Kevini & John Scolari, and Taylor Lamb, and his 2 great grandchildren, Mary and Dixon.

A Celebration of Life was held in Cedar City Jan. 31 at Rusty’s Ranch House (Darwin’s old restaurant). There was also a Celebration of Life scheduled in Las Vegas, Nevada, at a later date.
