CERES, CALIF. – The Jesus Is Lord Memorial Roping was held at Shane Parson’s Diamond Bar Arena on Easter Sunday, April 17. It was by far one of the best Easter Ropings we have ever had. It’s been 11 years since the last one. The Green family has had a few hard years since then, with Rickey leaving us in 2018 and then Vernon in 2021. These two men left a huge void in our families’ hearts. I’m not gonna lie, for me it’s been the hardest thing to move forward without Vernon, my life partner of 57 years. Vernon and Rickey built a legacy, their passion was for the ropers who didn’t know Jesus, ropers who never had time for church. They wanted them to know how easy it is for them to have eternity where there are no tears and no pain, forever.  Instead of in a fiery pit with so much agonizing pain forever. We all have a choice. So, they brought church to the roping arena. We felt like we needed to move this legacy forward and make this a Memorial for these two great men who loved their roping buddies. Apparently a lot of you ropers also thought this roping should come back as we had an overwhelming amount of support. We are so thankful and blessed with your support, there are so many to thank. This roping was a huge success thanks to everyone who showed up and those who supported in any way. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
A special thank you to Shane and Kim Parson for the use of their facility.  Also, thank you to Corey Ross for coming out to deliver an excellent message at church service. To Jeff Henley for flagging all day long. Also thank you to Eric Cozzitorto, Brenda Robbins and Bobbie DeMaria for keeping the roping running smoothly. Appreciation and gratitude to Jenny Sherbo for organizing and running the Dummy Roping. Rochelle Stewart for organizing the Easter Egg Hunt and kids prizes. We could not have done it without all of you.
