The San Luis Obispo County Cattlewomen’s Association hosted a full day of roping action that drew cowboys and cowgirls from across the region, with plenty of familiar faces backing into the box. The event celebrated both competition and community, featuring memorial buckle sponsors honoring local Western families.
4.5 Roping:
Cash Filipponi and Cody Sill stopped the clock at 5.58 to win the first go and the fastest time of the roping. Rowdy Russell and Sill followed with a 6.32 in the second go. Eric Redberg and Filipponi took the average with 21.27, followed by JC Chaves and Sill at 23.01, Miley Monighetti and Sill at 23.72, and Logan Sullivan and Sill at 23.75.
#7 Jr/Sr, Mixed, 1 Over 60:
Cody Mora and Chase Grantham led the first go with 5.26, while Ali Bilkey and Chance Machado were close behind at 5.52 in the second. The average went to Logan Sullivan and Royce Brown with 18.06, followed by Bradee Bourdet and Dawsyn Ozoidi at 22.07, Rowdy Russell and Dawysen Ozoidi at 23.38, and Machado and Grantham at 24.14.

#8.5 Pick/Draw:
Chance Machado and Zach Varian posted a 5.15 in the first go, with Mora and Filipponi turning in 5.18 in the second, and Mora and Adriene Cervantes clocking 5.25 in the third. Noah Cervantes and Grantham topped the average with 17.21, just ahead of Rowdy Russell and Grantham at 17.44, and Sullivan and Adriene Cervantes at 17.58. Fastest time of the day went to Mora and Grantham with a 4.59, while High Money Saddle honors went to Chase Grantham.

The spotlight event, the CTRA Ten Steer Roping #8.5 Handicap, was championed by Kyle Lockett and Ross Rivera, who roped ten head in 105.54 to claim $2,850 along with saddles and buckles. Kelton Martinez and Royce Brown were second with 110.13 for $2,350 and buckles. Tanner Kent and Brandon Bates placed third with 112.42 for $1,850, while Kent paired with Todd Hampton to take fourth at 113.91 for $1,350. Fifth went to Cowden and Blake Vanstavern with 116.96 for $850, and Les and Layton Oswald finished sixth at 118.04 for $500. The youngest roper award went to 13-year-old Kanton Wagner, who received a buckle, while the fast time honors went to Tyler Jones and Royce Brown with a 5.53, also earning buckles.In the Dummy Roping, Caroline Weirsma won the 6-and-under division, Axel Cozzitorto topped the 7–9 division, and Wren McCurley won the 10–12 division. Second-place ropes went to Hayes Harvey, Harper Bacigalupi, and Bodi Hirdes. Third-place hats were awarded to Bailey Weirsma, Waverly McCurley, and Royce Musick, while fourth-place cups went to Bryce Wall, Hadley Bacigalupi, and Dylan Bourgeois.
