Major Dummy Roping Sponsors: Thank you to Heel-O-Matic, Skyline Silversmiths, Resistol, Wrangler, Cactus Ropes and FastBack Ropes Live Webcast: The 2021 Wrangler/Professional’s Choice ACTRA National Finals were viewed by people all over the world, with Canada and the United Kingdom leading the way. A total of 14 foreign countries checked out the Finals, and 48 states here in the US. Some other amazing statistics would be over 6,000 views averaging just over an hour each. That would total over 6,000 hours of viewing time...wow! Last year, the Ladies First day had the most views. The live webcast is free of charge and can be accessed at actra.org. Look for the webcam link on the ACTRA home page. Can’t make it to the Finals? Check out family and friends on the Webcast To our ACTRA family, I have been looking forward to this landmark year as it heralds the 40th ACTRA National Finals and some really wonderful awards this fall. The introduction of the Reunion pass for ACTRA members who have been formerly active and moved away from an existing Chapter will allowmany of us to see some familiar faces and rekindle friendships in person. Our hope as a National Board is to spark a renewed interest in ACTRA ropings and membership in new territories as many of our group have migrated throughout the United States and even abroad. The reality of why our organization has outlasted so many others is in part owed to the major factor that makes us unique; ACTRA is the largest member-owned team roping organization in the world. Where our process and bylaws allow for slow changes, it also makes us steady and resilient. We also have the added benefit of treating our members like a family. I am extremely proud of our Catastrophe Fund, which takes allows us to send a sum of money to any member who encounters a catastrophe in life. Looking at the ACTRA National Finals, the major shift you will notice is a change in the prize line for the Super 7, and a return to 2 Thuro-Bilt Shilo 3-Horse trailers this year, made possible with a partnership with California Custom Trailers & Powersports. Additionally, Dode Dugger and Janet Allcott have been organizing a fantastic plan for the Tuesday Banquet. The current need is for donations for the Live and Silent Auction – please contact the ACTRA office and let us know what you would be willing to add as soon as possible. The past two banquet events have been elevated so well, if you haven’t attended in a while you simply can’t miss it this year! While I have been reminiscing about the history of ACTRA, I have to consider where we are going. I realize the new incoming board members and soon-to-be-elected first-time directors of the chapters will lead us forward. The ACTRA of the future will be made up of these folks and comprised of the talent they bring to the table. My urging for each member is to be willing to stand for election, talk to other members about what you can do to help, and stay involved when you get there. Everyone needs to bring one or two of three T’s; Time, Talent or Treasure. These attributes combined are what the association needs to advance forward, and having a large group of people willing to invest make that happen. To those who don’t step up to run but do vote, please consider supporting candidates that bring positive attributes to the board over being a talented roper. It is wonderful if they are both, but being willing to contribute to the overall success of the board and the association is the most important need to date. Practice well from now until I see you in Reno, we are fixing to have one heck of a 40th National Finals! Ty Rogers ACTRA National President A message from your ACTRA President:
