YUBA CITY, CALIF. – It is with great sadness we announce our mom and grandma Sandi Kenney passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. Sandi was born on June 28, 1944 in Clovis. Sandi was born into an Air Force family and grew up in various places around the world.

This included Bangor, Maine; Emlenton, Penn.; Alexandria, Virginia; Montevideo, Uruguay; Sacramento, Calif. and Bryan, Texas. She graduated high school from El Camino High in Sacramento and went on to O’Conner Hospital School of Nursing in San Jose, Calif., where she graduated and became a Registered Nurse on August 1, 1966. While working at O’Conner, Sandi married her first husband Steve Danna, Sr. and they had three boys.
In 1976 they moved to Yuba City and Sandi soon began working at Rideout Memorial Hospital where she worked for 27 years.
In 2005 Sandi moved over to Sutter North and became the Clinical Nurse Manager of the new Outpatient Surgery Center in Yuba City. She worked there until her retirement in 2017. Putting together the team and managing the Outpatient Surgery Center was one of Sandi’s proudest accomplishments in her career along with earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors at Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2016. She was a roll model for many and well respected by the Yuba Sutter medical community.
Sandi spent many hours attending the sports events of her children and grandchildren. If she was not in the stands loudly routing for her team you would find her running the snack bar which she did for many years.
In 1984 Sandi married Bill Kenney and together they spent many of their weekends and holidays working rodeos around the country with Sandi working as a PRCA Rodeo Secretary. In 1996 she was the official Secretary of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. She had many great times with many great friends in the professional rodeo world.
In her more recent years Sandi was a stylist for Cabi Clothing, she traveled to many great places around the world and she spent many hours with her friends at the Farmers Market selling the beautiful hand made cards they all enjoyed making. She was an incredible mother and grandmother with a loving, giving and generous heart. She always put everyone else first, she would help anyone in need and she never complained. The family greatly appreciates the support you all have given throughout her illness and especially in these last few weeks.
She is preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Smith (Col. Clure), her father Albert Rough (Catherine) and her sister Jean Marie Rough.
She is survived by her sons; Stephen Danna (Kelly), Dominic Danna and Joseph Danna (Shannon), her grandchildren; Lauren Danna, Sam Danna and Shaley Danna, her step-grandchildren, Cody DeLozier and Lexy DeLozier, her sisters; Shari Shannon (Roy), Stephani Howell (Brian) and Christine Rough Baschon and her brothers Robert Rough and Scott Smith.
