Bill Cresta, Apr. 5, 1928 - Dec. 9, 2022
Bill died peacefully at his ranch with his beloved wife Jane and daughter Lisa at his side. Bill was a successful businessman who owned and operated Pioneer Auto Parts in Santa Rosa for over 30 years.
After retiring Bill lived his lifelong dream of traveling full time on the Pro Rodeo Circuit. His horse “Hank” received the covenant Steer Wrestling Horse of the Year award in 1993 and has been recorded in the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, CO. Bill retired from rodeo at the young age of 80 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 2008.
Bill had a big heart, sense of humor and many friends everywhere. The younger generation of Professional Cowboys he was always around when competing kept him young and they all loved him.
The family wishes contributions to a nonprofit that is very dear to his heart, Equi-Ed Therapeutic Riding Program in Bill’s name. This organization has been on Bill’s ranch since 2013. http://www.equi-ed.org/donate 1535 Farmers Lane #217, Santa Rosa, CA 95405
A church service was held on December 16, 2022, at St. Helena Catholic Church, St. Helena, Calif., with a reception following. A celebration of life “party” that Bill requested will be announced later and will be held in 2023.
