I know it’s sure been a while since I was on here with a new blog, but as the saying goes, “Time flies when you’re having fun,” -- and I’ve been having a good time. Everything has been good with me. It seems like school is receiving the most attention from me at this point, being in my third year at Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo now. I’ve been getting to do some branding from time to time, and been roping. I just got back from getting to spend the weekend at Kyle and Leigh Lockett’s, where I got to rope a lot and be around some really good people. Happy 36th Birthday Kyle.

We are closing the gap between spring and summer! As the spring run winds down, everyone is gearing up for summer madness. I know, for me personally, it means the closing of school for the year. It means being able to shift my focus more to inside the arena than the classroom. I am actually signed up to take an online course this summer to knock out some credits toward my eventual graduation, but it will be a much easier workload than hours in a classroom on campus. It’ll give me something to do when driving around to rodeos and ropings, or just hanging by the pool. I love the summertime. It’s the warm summer nights at jackpot roping arenas all over. It’s often the visiting and reuniting of friends.

Welcome to Spring. March 20th officially marked the first day of the new season. It is always an exciting time. The spring season brings warmer temperatures, longer days, blooming flowers, and bright green hillsides. Well, the green hillsides are something we hope for, but in some parts of the country the lack of rain isn’t really supplying much color to the landscape. Anyway, it always brings a fresh feeling and one of joy. I know the longer days sure are nice for everyone’s roping schedules too.
