70th Annual CTRA Oakdale 10-Steer
70th Annual CTRA Oakdale – Results & History
The Oakdale Ten Steer Roping has stood as one of California’s most revered team roping events since its founding in 1956. Born out of the California Team Roping Association’s vision for a true test of horsemanship and stamina, the format—ten steers over three days—quickly separated the contenders from the pretenders. Through the years, the Oakdale Ten Steer became a proving ground where some of the greatest names in the sport left their mark. Cowboys like Leo Camarillo, Mike Cervi, Allen Bach, and countless others have written their chapters in its history, turning the event into both a showcase of endurance and a roll call of rodeo legends.
Seventy years later, the Ten Steer still carries that weight of tradition. Generations of ropers have chased the buckle in Oakdale’s arena, and the prestige of winning here has never dimmed. With deep roots in California’s ranching country and a reputation that stretches nationwide, the Oakdale Ten Steer remains a benchmark of consistency, horsemanship, and resilience.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]This year’s 70th Annual CTRA Oakdale opened with the Open Roping, where Layton Oswald and StoneyBoy Joseph championed the average on four head with a 29.87 to win $1,435 and buckles.
