The 13th Annual Lucky 777 was held Dec. 7-9, 2012, at the Mojave Events and Equestrian Center in Bullhead City, Ariz. Accommodations for the event were at the AVI Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nev.
It has become a tradition for the last 12 years to run this event very smoothly. The 13th annual was no different. All the ropings started on time, giving each team three full runs, and a short go. The roping was privileged to have Phillip Murrah flagging the event. Phillip’s expertise is second to none and for the last several years he has been the exclusive flagger for the Lucky 777. As in the past and again this year, the cattle were supplied by Reed Flake, who along with his wife Amy, handled the announcing and the timing.
This year’s prize line were Skyline Silversmith saddles, Gist buckles, and spurs from Bud’s Tack Shop.

Named after one of fixtures of team roping for decades, the Lucky 777 is delighted to be able to recognize this outstanding cowboy. It was an honor to have Mrs. Ellen Hamilton present the buckles to the winners of the average.

The final event of the roping started at 9 a.m. and moved along quickly. Taking the top spot in the average was the team of Bruce Bolen and Bob Strander, winning $17,646, along with Skyline Silversmith saddles. Second was the team of J.T. Prather and Wyatt Cox, collecting $11,764, and the Gist buckles.
