CHOWCHILLA, CALIF. – Well, the old saying goes, “You can’t keep a good thing down.” This year was no exception; we continue to grow bigger and better. With the weather forecast changing on us at the last minute, quick decisions had to be made. Thanks to a great group of friends and an awesome Fairgrounds crew we were able to make the move in less than 48 hours. So we loaded up five rigs and set out from Lemoore to the Chowchilla Fairgrounds.
The C-N Stallion Service Auction had 40 beautiful well-bred stallions donate this year raising $24,000 to be added to the futurity pot, doubling our last year’s total of just $12,000. We have now implemented the C-N Stallion Incentive Program which is growing fast. This program is free to all stallions who donate a breeding to the C-N Stallion Service Auction on a continuing basis. The auction starts on October 15 of each year. 100% of the money raised from this program goes to the C-N California Futurity and C-N Stallion Incentive Program. There are so many who stepped up to help pick up barrels and work the gate. Because of the move we lost all of our hired arena help. So we asked some of the contestants to help us out and boy did they ever. I apologize for not mentioning names, however I was so busy there were more people out there than I was able to keep track of. Several gals hung in the office all weekend long without a break and huge appreciation goes out to them: Christy Ward, Samantha Meyer and Michelle Sullivan. Also at a drop of a hat Taylor Nahrgang came and did an outstanding job announcing. Thank you all for an outstanding weekend! The race ran smooth and fast! Overall the closest thing to a perfect weekend that I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of.
The payout for the C-N California Futurity and Stallion Incentive Program totaled $30,475.
She Got The Guy is the first of many C-N Stallion Incentive Average Champions sired by First Down French.
