SQUAW VALLEY, CA – The 4 Cent Ranch Roping Series concluded in October of 2016 with its Finals, and it came down to the wire to determine the winners.
Mark Burner was the high money winners of the day and received a Henry Golden Boy 17 caliber lever action rifle, and a fistful of dollars. Brad Butler also received a Henry 22 caliber rifle for being the high point roper over the eight-month series. It was a fun-filled day with a little friendly competition among some great people that capped off the season.
The producers of these events, Randy, Kelly, Bryant and Thomas Pennebaker, want to thank the group of people who came out and participated at the arena…some of the finest friends anyone could ask for. The good times and loyal support enjoyed throughout the year are much appreciated. Special thanks to Thelma and Brad in the announcers booth, Jeff Bargas with the flag, Clay and Bruce working the chutes, Doug Cockrell for his cowboy church services, and the American Cowboys Team Roping Association.
After almost 25 years, the Pennebakers have decided to take a little break from putting on ropings. They will see what the future brings and look forward to seeing everyone at various events this year.
