15th Annual CHSRA Challenge of Champions

PLYMOUTH, CA — The 15th annual Challenge of Champions was held March 23, 24 and 25 at the Amador County Fairgrounds. Once again the major sponsor was the Jackson Rancheria Casino and Resort. Producer Craig Williamson, who has coordinated this event all 15 years, again did a fantastic job of making the event a success. The weekend was full of great competition and, of course, at least one day of rain. Challenge would not be Challenge without mud and rain.
Sponsors like Cargill, who awards a $500 scholarship to both All Around winners, American Legion Ambulance and the Fair Board all joined CHSRA for the 2012 Challenge.
The weekend also includes a “mock interview” scholarship seminar coordinated by Jim Luce, a trade show, a scholarship silent auction and a special rodeo. The rodeo is a preview of the top three in each district in all events. This is a warm up to the competition at State Finals.
Congratulations to All Around winners Taylor Santos-Karney of District 7 and Macy Devenport of District 8.
Reserve All Around winners were Colton Farquer of District 5 and Billie Holman of District 6; and Rookie All Around were Caden Farquer of District 5 and Sage Massey of District 7. The winning District Team was District 7.
