Members of California High School Rodeo district 5 are halfway through the 2016-2017 year and showing just how tough we are here in Central California!
My name is Londyn Brazil, and I am glad to be a part of District 5, the “Big Dogs.” So far, we have had three great weekends competing in Oakdale. Our last rodeo, Nov. 4-6, was our annual Fall Classic. We had some pretty amazing competition all weekend long, but the one that impressed me the most was our own Machaela Sinclair! She won the High School girls Goat Tying both days with a 6.97 and a 6.90 (thank you for speeding it up the second day!) Are you kidding me? That is lightning fast, I mean, my fastest time is an 8.2 which I am proud of, but I can beat her…if she starts from the parking lot! Congrats Machaela on your hard work. We love to watch you tie!
Another great contestant is D5’s own “barrel racin’ Rylee George!” Everyone knows her first love is the barrel racing event! She won 2nd to Kelsey Cadwell in round one and came back strong for first in the second round, which made her the average champion for the weekend. Rylee and her mare, Lexi, are a magic team for sure, keep it up girls!
I am proud to say that after a long weekend, our D5 kids were awesome! Thank you to Districts 1 and 6 for joining the fun and bringing tough competition.
