Fred O’Dell, 1928-2023
SHANDON, CALIF. – As some of you already know my amazing, funny, loving, talented Dad passed away at age 95.
Fred lived a very full life. From his humble beginnings born in Centralia, Oklahoma, to his life in California rodeoing, team roping and working in the motion picture industry.
He was a great man, a great father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He served in the Navy. He was at one time captain of the Sheriff’s posse. He worked as a wrangler in the motion picture industry for decades and retired from that at age 65.
He was a horse trainer, a team roper, and a ranch manager. He spent his last years of his life living in Shandon, California. He was still riding and training colts up until just a few years ago. He was amazing!
He loved his friends and has outlived most of them. So, Momma (Vernice) and his closest friends Gene O’Brien, Dick Wells, Phil Rawlins, Emery Kauzlarich and Jim Jones and so many others that he cherished that have gone before him – please have fun in heaven with my Daddy and take good care of him for us who are left behind without him.
We love you with all our hearts! I will never stop missing you!
