FARMINGTON, CALIF. –
Wow! All I can say is “Timed Event Challenge!” For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, Debbie and I hosted a Timed Event Challenge March 1st and 2nd in Farmington, Calif.
Saturday was the Open Girls event with heading, heeling and breakaway. Sunday was the Junior Boys Timed Event Challenge, ages 18-14, with heading, heeling, and tie down roping. For those of you who were there, you would probably agree with me that you could feel from the contestants, spectators, family and friends the pressure, intensity and adrenaline that was in the building. The level of competition and talent from both the girls and the junior boys made it an exciting event to watch. We are looking forward to hosting several more events like this in the near future.
We would like to thank everyone for coming and congratulate Pete Maravelias, Jr. for winning the boys average and Taryn Krantz for winning the girls average as well as congratulate all of the go-round and fast time winners. Both days, the contestants had outstanding help heading and heeling.
We would also like to thank all of the sponsors: Ropers Sports News, Cactus Ropes, Conlin Supply, Best Ever Pads, Annadale Equine Center, Tim and Kelleigh Hansen, Bob Berg Buckles and Justin Sorenson Custom Halters. Also, last but not least, all of the people who helped to make this event run amazingly smooth; Bill Harvey, Megan Harvey, Marci Barios, Spence family, Dodds family, Hayhurst family, Smith family, Barios family, Blaine Lockett.
