WICKENBURG, ARIZ. – National Team Roping held a three-day Memorial Weekend Celebration May 23-25 at Rancho Rio in Wickenburg. On Day 1, Jarin Davis and Garrett Hershbergre picked up $6,960 in the #9.5 Memorial 5000 – the highest paying division of the day.
In all there were 801 teams competing and 10 saddles awarded in the Memorial Day Celebration #8.5 Saddle Up on Sunday, May 24. Eduardo Valdez and Loreno Yazzie topped the field roping three steers in 25.61 to take home $8,200 plus trophy Scott Thomas custom saddles.
Temperatures heated up on Day 3 of the Memorial Weekend Celebration but it didn’t stop ropers from entering up. We awarded 20 Gist Silversmiths trophy buckles in the #7 Buckle Up 2-steer. Donny Tate and Owen Wilson took home trophy saddles in the #8.5 Memorial Bonus, while Josh Peterson and Joe Grace topped the #8.5 Megabucks to split $4,030 cash.
