NWTRA Finals Has Great Turnout
The Nevada Women’s Team Roping Association Finals were held October 13 at Dave Stix Arena in Fernley, Nev.
It was a nice day with great weather for this time of year in Nevada, and a great turn out of ropers. The morning was a little chilly, but it warmed up and was a really nice day. Thanks to everyone for turning out and supporting us in our last roping of the year.
High money winners of the day were: Lady roper: Nora Lee; #1-1.5: Dave Stix; #2-2.5: Jim Estill; and #3 & over was Matt Hussman. The high money winners were awarded saddle blankets with lettered corner plates.
Average winners of the #7, Handicap Mixed, Pick & Draw and the #4 won Cactus rope bronc halters for their roping ability. The average winners of the Jennie Steele All Girl won beautiful buckles donated by Ralph and Carole Rogers.
Roping secretary was Cathy Birch and the cattle were provided by Tommy Lee Livestock of Fallon. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us and especially to Dave Stix for the use of his great arena.

Nora Lee and Dave Stix were the high money winners at the NWTRA Finals held Oct. 13.
Austin Broome Phillips and Matt Hussman won the Handicap Mixed roping.
Nick Castillo and Austin Carrasco were the winners of the Handicap Pick & Draw roping.
Benji Tejeda and Dave Stix won the #4 average.
Julianne Hutchins and Nancy Campbell were the winners of the Jennie Steele All Girl Roping.
