Ropers Sports News is proud to announce that we have joined forces with the California Chapter of ACTRA to become the official publication for this great organization. Thank you to the West Coast Roping Assn. (WCRA) and the Women’s Team Roping Assn. (WTRA) for their support as RSN is also the official publication for each of these fine associations and RSN also hosts WTRA’s website.
Ropers Sports News is a monthly newspaper that is dedicated to team roping, barrel racing and rodeo fans from all over the U.S. With strong emphasis on the West Coast, RSN reaches subscribers in 48 states as well as three foreign countries. RSN is owned and published by Bob Feist, creator and producer of the BFI (Bob Feist Invitational). RSN prides itself as being a sounding board and a place of communication for the many different associations that have sprung up all over the country.
Ropers Sports News was the natural choice for California ACTRA as they have had a strong working relationship since the association was founded in 1983 by Pat and Larry Hunnicutt. Many changes have evolved over the course of the years with ACTRA having its own newspaper and then discontinuing it a few years ago. Because the ACTRA publication is no longer in existence, California ACTRA felt there was a void in communication with their members. The thought was that a hard copy newspaper that members and potential members could use to locate their next event as well as see results and photos, was warranted. Because of the strong influence of social media, RSN has also stepped up and revamped our website to insure that each advertiser’s events are listed on our website. Ropers Sports News also has a Facebook fan page that is also available for updates. With all of these great tools available (printed product and online exposure), the partnership between RSN and California ACTRA will be strong.
