LINCOLN, CALIF. – The Howard Williams and Al Sanders Memorial Roping and Auction took place May 9th and 10th at the Lincoln High School Rodeo Grounds.Howard and Alfred loved to help kids, so all of the cattle money and profit’s from the silent auction are donated to children’s charities. This year we had 358 teams compete and we were able to give $1,932 to CHSRA Dist. #3, $3,000 to Shriner’s Hospital for Children and $3,000 to Ronald McDonald House.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who donated to the roping and the silent auction. The Goss family worked many hours to make the silent auction a success. The high point header and heeler Corriente saddes given over the two days went to Sondra Williams and Justin Pearson. Sondra and her older brother Larry tied for the saddle, but he graciously gave the saddle to Sondra without a rope-off.
Please note that all awards are sponsored or donated and that no teams are ever taken out for awards.
The families of Howard and Al want to thank everyone who contributed to the auctions, the donations and the awards. We also want to thank everyone who came to watch, help and roped. Everyone should be happy their donations are benefiting children’s charities that were close to the hearts of Howard, Al and their families.
