Grace has been with CHSRA District 3 in junior high and high school. She was the 2013 Jr. Division State Champion in Girls Breakaway.
Summer has officially come to its end, and California High School Rodeo is back in high gear! District 3 kicked off its new year Sept. 21-22 in Lincoln, Calif. This summer’s National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, WY., crowned two national champions from District 3: Cheyanne Carpenter, Girls Cutting, and Clayton Biglow, Bareback Riding. Congratulations to our National Champions!
Saturday brought thunderstorms and heavy showers and even some lightning! But “Thundering Three” was right at home with the thunder. After about an hour break, we resumed the rodeo; wet, but happy to get back to doing what we love. One of the highlights of the weekend was in the Senior Girls Breakaway, Molly Sparrowk roped a 2.82, the fastest time of the weekend.
A rodeo was held Oct. 26-27, and the “Thundering Three” is happy to announce that our November rodeo will be our first multi-district rodeo of the 2013-14 rodeo season! District 1 will be making the trip down to District 3, for a fun, full-of-action, inter-district rodeo! Awards will be given to the event winners and buckles to the All-Around champions. The dates are Nov. 9-10. Good luck to all our District 3 rodeo contestants!
