Earnhardt’s Truck Showdown Draws Over 700 Teams
And Pays Out Over $70,000 In Cash & Prizes
Over 700 teams roped at the Earnhardt’s Truck Showdown held November 19-20 in Queen Creek, Ariz. The teams enjoyed the low entry fees and high payouts—$70,000 in cash and prizes over the two days.
On Saturday the day started with low fees and high payouts with 580 teams in the #4/Under Truck Roping. The header, Chuck Sells, came out on top by placing in mulitple rounds and several times in the average. He drove away with the beautiful 2011 Dodge dually truck.
On Sunday, the Open Roping got the day started with 22 of the best teams in the Southwest taking arun at the $2,000 payday for first. It was Erich Rodger’s day as he won first with Cory Petska by roping four steers in 29.45 seconds, and taking second place with Cesar De La Cruz with a time of 29.58. The payday for Erich was $1,650, not bad for a 22 team roping. The ropers were hanging out for their chance at the $1,000 that was going to be given to the high point of the #13 and #12. The big win went to Cheyenne Sherwood and Trinity Jacobs—they decided that they would both enjoy the added bonus and split the money.
The Earnhardt’s Truck Showdown was a huge success and ropers really enjoyed themselves in Queen Creek. It was certainly a roping you didn’t want to miss. Thanks to all the ropers who continue to support Double C Productions and Load Em In The Dark events. You will want to mark your calendar for January 27-28 when we will be giving away three 2012 Dodge trucks.
