Fallon, Nevada. The World Series of Team Roping returned to the Rafter 3C Arena in June for the Double Down in Fallon, and the Ullman-Peterson Events crew again turned the air-conditioned complex into one of the richest weeks on the West Coast calendar. Ropers of every number filled the day sheets across four days of competition, chasing better than a quarter-million dollars in a full slate of World Series qualifiers, a trailer roping, all-girl and breakaway roping, muley ropings, over-40 divisions, and Hooey Junior BFI qualifiers. The same production that owns the Bob Feist Invitational built a week with something for everyone, and the entries showed it.
The marquee runs belonged to a mix of Hall of Famers and Fallon’s own. Jake Barnes and Clay O’Brien Cooper topped the 15.5 with a 33.45 on the average, a reminder that the legendary duo still shows up and still wins. In the BFI Qualifier Open, three-time world champion heeler Jade Corkill, born and raised in Fallon, teamed with Clint Summers to take the title in 47.70 seconds, with Erich Rogers and Cory Petska placing second. Emmett Silva capped his week by winning the 10 Trailer Roping, then stayed busy across the junior and muley ropings, one of several names to appear again and again through the results.
The women had a strong showing as well. Martha Angelone doubled up, winning the Breakaway Roping with a 9.62 on the average and adding a check heeling for Barrie Molina in the All-Girl Open, where Kaitlyn Torres and Haiden Thompson took the title. Junior standout Stix Lee stacked placings all week, winning the 13.5 World Series qualifier and both Hooey Junior BFI qualifiers, while Zalin Arritola, Cody McNaney, Conner Nelson, and Sadie Miller each turned in multiple money runs. Full results from every division follow.
