WINNEMUCCA, NV – The Western States Ranch Rodeo Association (WSRRA) will be holding its 8th Annual National Finals Thursday through Sunday, November 2-5, 2017. The WSRRA continues to sanction ranch rodeo and ranch bronc riding events in 13 states and Canada. There will be open division and women’s division ranch rodeo teams in addition to the top 15 ranch bronc riders and women’s steer stoppers. For the fourth year, the National Finals of the Professional Wild Horse Racers Association (PWHRA) will be held in conjunction with the WSRRA National Finals. The top six 3-man teams in the nation compete in six go arounds for the PWHRA world title. The PWHRA Finals has been a very exciting addition. Rodeo clown, Tuffy Gessling, will return to bring laughs and smiles all four days, as he did last year.
Enjoy the Buckaroo Christmas Gear and Trade Show, open every day Thursday through Sunday. Thursday thru Sunday also enjoy practice and jackpot goat team roping and open junior steer riding Thursday and Friday night. This is a good time for Christmas shopping with quality craftsman and vendors. For the third year, enjoy the Great Basin Gathering, a special music, poetry and gear trading show. It will take place Nov 3-4th. Tickets are $10 a day or $15 for both days. Tables available for people with trade gear. Friday and Saturday afternoon Jessica Hedges and Cowboy Thatch Elmer will be performing. Friday night at 9 pm Rico Nova and the Desires will be playing. All ages welcome. Also we have an open stage for anyone wanting to perform both days. Any questions please call Laura Chew at 541-589-3086. The Gathering is informal in nature.
