Fillmore Roping Club Thanksgiving Roping – Fillmore, California
The Fillmore Roping Club hosted its Thanksgiving roping in Fillmore, California, welcoming a strong turnout on a beautiful holiday weekend. Mac and Sadie handled announcing duties, Jeff brought the cattle and kept things moving, and President Beccah Haller presented buckles to the High Money winners of the day. Buckles went to the #2.5 and Under High Money Header Ethan Strassburger, the #2.5 and Under High Money Heeler Hector Uribe, and the Senior 55+ High Money winner Mike Fontes.
#4 Handicap, 85 Teams, Pay Per Man:
Fast Time honors went to Ethan Strassburger and Jessie Fontes with a 7.50, $200 per man, followed by Poncho Jimenez and Clayton Greynolds with a 7.84, $150 per man. Average winners were Ethan Strassburger and Jessie Fontes first with a 29.63 on four, $700 per man, Travis Smith and Hector Uribe second with a 30.16, $540 per man, Poncho Jimenez and Hector Uribe third with a 32.01, $380 per man, Ethan Strassburger and Hector Uribe fourth with a 32.09, $230 per man, and Ricordo Avila and Artemio Semder fifth with a 38.75, paying $70 and $140.
#5.5 Handicap Down, 90 Teams, Pay Per Man:
Fast Time was claimed by Connor Matthews and Noe Casian with a 6.28, $240 per man, with second fast time going to Jason Gruber and Nico Gaggero at 6.71, $160 per man. Average results saw Ethan Strassburger and Tim Boyle winning first with a 27.99, $770 per man, Enrique Rodriguez and Mike Fontes second with a 28.47, $600 per man, Connor Matthews and Noe Casian third with a 30.23, $420 per man, Jamie Fontes and Cliff Happy fourth with a 30.34, $260 per man, and Andrew Barton and Mike Fontes rounding out the average with a 30.84, $150 per man.
