Shaun Hadley, March 22, 1959–October 24, 2022

VALLEY SPRINGS, CALIF. – Shaun Hadley passed away October 24, 2022, at his home in Valley Springs after a three-and-a-half year battle from a stroke. He was 63.

 Shaun was born in Ogden, Utah on March 22, 1959,  son of Blaine Allen and Neila Montgomery Hadley. Shaun grew up in Ogden and graduated from Weber High School in 1977.
  At a very young age Shaun was a quarter and thoroughbred jockey, chariot racing driver, avid hunter, fisherman, and a rodeo cowboy. After graduating high school, Shaun moved to California. This is where he met the love of his life, Anita, at Bay Meadows Racetrack. From there they worked side-by-side at Legacy Ranch raising, breaking, and training many horses including seven world champions. After 32 years he retired and resided in Valley Springs.
  Shaun is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anita Hadley of Valley Springs; his son, Blaine Russel Hadley of Valley Springs; daughter Roxann (Matt) Ospital of Valley Springs; four grandchildren, Brix Hadley, Hadley Ospital, Jack Ospital and Blaine Ospital; his mother, Neila Montgomery Hadley of Ogden, Utah; brother Sid (Wendy) Hadley of Malad, Idaho; and sisters, Sherry (Tim) Oliver of Roy, Utah; Sonya (Doug) Madsen of Honeyville, Utah; and Sandee Hadley of Ogden, Utah.
  He was preceded in death by his father, Blaine Allen Hadley, and brother, Sherman Joe Hadley.
  Funeral services were held November 11 at Lindquis’s Roy (Utah) Mortuary. Interment was at West Weber Cemetery in Ogden, Utah, followed by a celebration of life.
