CERES, CALIF. – The 2nd Annual Cody Anthenien Memorial Roping was held June 11-12 at the Diamond Bar Arena. The roping was held in honor of Cody J. Anthenien, who was tragically killed in an auto accident in 2009. His family has kept his memory alive with the production of this event that also included breakaway roping and calf branding.
Custom Scott Thomas saddles were awarded to the high money of each day. CJ DeForest was the winner on Saturday and Joe Robinson won the saddle on Sunday.  Last year, Joe also won a saddle that he graciously donated to the Anthenien family. The Anthenien family was thrilled that he won  another saddle so he can ride one himself in Cody’s honor.
A saddle was also awarded to the winner of the breakaway roping average, Chanel Holland.
The John Moitozo Memorial Calf Branding buckle winners were Cole Hook, Andy Holcomb, CJ DeForest and Blake Hirdes.
